Don't make the world better. Make it equal & accessible to everyone.
Let's initiate the conversation & support startups and innovators!
The Thought:
I used to study in one of the best engineering institutes in India having one of largest libraries in Asia. The only way to access the library was a staircase connecting the corridor and library. Along with this, the library had a small gate to ensure no theft happens.
I used to wonder how come an institute of such prominence didn’t have a ramp for the differently-abled students. We had a significantly large number of such students who were unable to access the library and used to ask their friends to get books for them.
2 years back when I visited the campus, I strolled towards the library. To my surprise, there was a ramp connecting the corridor to the library along with a larger gate to accommodate wheelchairs.
It was such a pleasant thing to see.
We started The Accessibility Club to initiate the discussions around making the world ‘Equal’ for the differently-abled people.
We want to create an open-hearted community that converses openly and drives the world to innovate.
How do we do this:
Understanding problems: By consistently being in touch with differently-abled friends, understanding the problems they have been facing, and initiating a dialogue, we intend to create an open-hearted community.
Driving Policies: We will constantly be working with various organizations working on accessibility and drive various policy level changes.
Supporting Innovation: Using the network of investors & venture capitalists, we are working closely with founders in the domain to support them with the required capital to make the dent they always wanted to make.
Our weekly newsletter will include:
The problem faced along with drill down to root cause
Top-level solutions as suggested by differently-abled themselves.
2-3 startups solving the problem
